In the extremely cold regions of Northeast my country, the high-altitude areas of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and around polar research stations, traditional tractors struggle to operate normally due to issues like cold sensitivity, oxygen deprivation, and insufficient power. Recently, a polar-specific tractor developed by a domestic research institute and agricultural machinery company successfully passed testing, demonstrating stable operation in temperatures as cold as -40°C and at altitudes up to 5,000 meters. This fills a gap in my country's agricultural machinery for extreme environments and provides equipment support for agricultural production and polar research in high-latitude regions.

This polar-specific tractor features comprehensive "extreme environment resistance" design in its core components. The engine features a low-temperature preheating system, enabling normal engine operation even in winter temperatures as low as -40°C in Mohe, Heilongjiang Province, with just 10 minutes of preheating time. Conventional tractors, on the other hand, experience misfires at temperatures below -25°C. The engine is also equipped with a high-altitude adaptability device. By optimizing the air intake system, power output drops by only 10% at altitudes of 5,000 meters on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, far less than the 30% power loss experienced by conventional tractors. At a forage plantation in Yushu, Qinghai, this tractor can harvest 20 mu of forage per day at an altitude of 4,800 meters, a level that would render conventional tractors virtually inoperable.

In addition to the powertrain, the tractor's hydraulic system, tires, cab, and other components have also undergone special modifications. The hydraulic oil is low-temperature and freeze-resistant, maintaining excellent fluidity at -40°C, preventing the hydraulic system from freezing. The tires are made of a special, non-slip and wear-resistant rubber material, increasing grip on icy and snowy roads by 50% and effectively preventing slipping. The cab is equipped with a dual-zone heating system that can raise the interior temperature from -40°C to 15°C in 15 minutes. UV-blocking glass is also installed to withstand the intense ultraviolet radiation at high altitudes. This tractor also demonstrates unique advantages in polar research. It can tow 5 tons of research equipment at the edge of the Antarctic ice sheet, completing tasks such as ice core collection and environmental monitoring. Compared to traditional snowmobiles, its fuel consumption is reduced by 25%, its range is increased to 300 kilometers, and its satellite communication capability allows it to maintain contact with research stations even in areas without signal. A representative from the China Polar Research Center stated, "The successful development of the polar-specific tractor solves the 'last mile' challenge of transporting research supplies, providing important support for my country's polar research."

Currently, the polar-specific tractor has been piloted for agricultural operations in Mohe, Heilongjiang Province, and Yushu, Qinghai Province. It is also supporting research at Zhongshan Station in Antarctica and the Yellow River Station in the Arctic. The R&D team will continue to optimize the device's performance and plans to release customized versions suitable for different extreme environments. This will further expand its application and provide stronger support for agricultural development and polar research in my country's high-latitude regions.
