With the accelerated pace of agricultural modernization, tractors are also experiencing technological upgrades. New, environmentally friendly, intelligent, and efficient tractors are gradually becoming mainstream in the market, injecting new vitality into agricultural production.
In Luocheng Street, Shouguang City, Weifang City, Shandong Province, a new tractor is plowing the fields in the greenhouse of vegetable grower Zhang Xianguo. Unlike traditional tractors, this one is electrically powered, making operation virtually silent and emitting no exhaust gas. "I used to use a diesel tractor, which was noisy and had a pungent diesel odor. Now, an electric one is environmentally friendly, quiet, and comfortable to work in the greenhouse," Zhang Xianguo said. This electric tractor can operate for six hours on a single charge and can plow eight mu (approximately 1.5 acres), meeting daily operating needs.

According to a representative from the Shouguang Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, in recent years, the local area has actively promoted new agricultural machinery and equipment, including new energy tractors and intelligent tractors. These equipment have significantly improved in terms of energy conservation, environmental protection, operating efficiency, and intelligence. "Take electric tractors, for example. Compared to traditional diesel tractors, they can reduce operating costs per mu by 30% and carbon emissions by over 90%." The official stated that over 200 new tractors have been deployed across the city, primarily for use in protected agriculture and grain production.
In addition to environmental protection, intelligent technology has also become a key focus for tractor upgrades. At the Shouguang Modern Agricultural Industrial Park, an intelligent tractor is engaged in seeding operations. Operators can monitor the tractor's progress and location in real time via a mobile app, and remotely adjust parameters such as seeding depth and row spacing. "Before, I had to keep a constant eye on the operation, fearing problems. Now, with the intelligent system, I can view all the data on my phone and control it remotely. It's so convenient." Operator Li Jun explained that the intelligent tractor also offers improved seeding accuracy, with row spacing errors within 1 cm, which helps increase crop yields.
To promote the widespread use of the new tractors, local subsidies have been introduced. Farmers who purchase new tractors can enjoy a 30% purchase subsidy. Furthermore, to address the difficulty of charging new energy tractors, the local government has built multiple agricultural machinery charging stations in the fields to facilitate charging. "With subsidies and charging facilities, buying new tractors is more cost-effective and less stressful," said Zhang Xianguo.
The promotion and application of new tractors not only promotes changes in agricultural production methods but also provides strong support for the green development of agriculture. Officials from the Shouguang Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau stated that the local government will continue to increase its promotion of new agricultural machinery and equipment, while strengthening cooperation with scientific research institutions to promote further upgrades in tractor technology and contribute to the modernization of agriculture.
